Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, the actor who so brilliantly played Mr. Eko, is working on an autobiographical movie. He “plans to direct and star in an autobiographical film he wrote about growing up in foster care and on the tough streets of London.” No word yet on when production on the movie will begin, but it’s one I’m interested in seeing.
It looks like it could be a pretty powerful movie. Our Matthew Fox looks to have a pretty prominent role, but his name is missing from the trailer. I wonder what that’s about…
Fox will star in We Are Marshall opening December 22. Fox will play a coach named Red Dawson. The movie also stars Matthew McConaughey as the head coach of the team. IMDB’s summary is this:
When a plane crash claims the lives of members of the Marshall University football team and some of its fans, the team’s new coach (McConaughey) and his surviving players try to keep the football program alive.
Fox in another story involving a plane crash? Interesting pattern.
There’s a rumor floating around that Jack may be killed off the show. Uh oh. I don’t like this rumor one bit. Kristin at E! Online spoke to Damon Lindelof, and here’s what he had to say, plus Kristin’s interpretation:
“This is the most insane rumor regarding Lost to date. The fact that you think we might do it is incredibly flattering.”
Now, if you’re like me, your heart leaped, then sank, upon hearing these words. While it might seem a denial at first—oh, dear friends, how it is not. To the contrary, Lindelof finds the idea that they’d be brave enough to kill off our fearless, Other-defying leader (gasp!) flattering.
All I can say is: Run, Jack, run for your liiife!
Don’t forget this is the same man who told us it was “absolutely not true” that Michelle Rodriguez would be killed off for bad behavior. She was killed off, but not for bad behavior. Tricky, tricky.
Please don’t kill Jack. I was really just starting to like him. He was finally making some gutsy moves. I don’t like it one bit!
There are some things, though, that point to this being a strong possibility. There are spoilers after the jump, so beware! (more…)
I’m just not sure if I agree with this one. Matthew Fox (Jack)? Yes. Josh Holloway (Sawyer)? Absolutely. But Rodrigo Santoro? I’m not so sure. What do you think?
Looks like Michelle Rodriguez (whom we know best as Ana-Lucia) has a new girlfriend! According to this article in The Advocate, actress Kristanna Loken hints at being involved with Rodriguez.
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be on BBC Radio 1 this morning on the Jo Whiley Show. If you’re in the U.S., you can catch the interview on Sirius satellite radio or Dish Network. If you’re in the U.K., you can hear Radio 1 on FM or DAB. The time of the broadcast is 10:00 A.M.-12:45 P.M. for both the United States and the United Kingdom. (The broadcast is delayed for the U.S.) Check it out, if you’re so inclined.
Well, that was WAY too short! And I had to sit through an hour and a half of DayBreak. But here’s what got out of it…
Desmond and Charlie were having a heated discussion on the beach. Desmond starts walking away, and Charlie calls him a coward. Desmond turns around and attacks Charlie, knocking him to the ground. Desmond is on top of Charlie, choking him, and yelling, “You don’t want to know what happened to me when I turned that key!”
And that’s it! So, what could have happened to him when he turned the key?!?
That’s the question I seem to be asking myself more and more lately, and not just about this show. But I know all you really care about is the show, right? So, what is the purpose of the island? Why are the Others there? Why was the Dharma Initiative there? We know that there are tons of theories, so here are a couple more to fill this long hiatus time… (more…)
…when Lost returns in February? Well, Kristin at E! Online has a little information for us.
From Jason: Lost! Got any goods on what will happen when it returns? I loved the fall finale.
We’ve got a long wait, which, personally, is killing me! But to ease the pain, I did just meet up with Jorge Garcia and executive producer Bryan Burk, who were promoting the new Lost action figures. But here are the subjects we touched on and what they said:
Will the Penny and Desmond storyline return?
B.B.: We hope so. Penny’s pretty significant in Desmond’s life. I want a Penny action figure.
What about those Portuguese-speaking guys?
B.B.: Their actions will definitely come back into play. God, I gotta say everything so cryptically.
Will we see another Hurley flashback?
J.G.: Um, definitely this season.
B.B.: It’s coming up. I think it’s episode 10.
The Others—are they good or evil?
B.B.: “There is no purely good or evil. What evil people think they’re evil?”
It looks like Nikki and Paulo will have a flashback episode after the long Lost hiatus. Unlike other characters’ flashbacks where we’re shown what the characters’ lives were like before landing on the island, The Tail Section reports that Nikki and Paulo’s flashback will let us know what they have been doing while they’ve been on the island. So, finally, we’ll get a little backstory to these two who’ve just popped up out of nowhere and have been annoying us tremendously. I wonder if it can make them less annoying or even more annoying.
“The smoke appeared behind Eko right after what appeared to be Eko’s brother disappeared. The smoke also appeared right before the altar boy and the other men attacked Eko. It seems easy to assume that the smoke can take human form–it explains why Christian appeared to Jack, the horse appeared to Kate, Dave appeared to Hurley, and even why Walt appeared to Shannon. As we know from last season’s Eko flashback, the smoke synthesizes your past and then apparently uses its knowledge to its benefit.”
Ooooo, so the smoke uses your past against you? And it takes human form to really mess with your mind? That’s pretty cruel. But its ability to take human (or animal) form does explain a lot of the other weird occurrences on the island.
“As for the black “smoke”, my office mates and I are debating whether it is man-made or the devil (following the “the island is purgatory theme”). I’m still leanging towards the black smoke was created (on purpose or accidentally) by the Dharma Initiative and is now completely out of their control, much like the genetically altered polar bears that can live on the tropical island.”
So, maybe the Dharma Initiative created the smoke and now has lost control over it. Hmmm, I like it. But what could it have been created for? What would the Dharma Initiative use it for?
Thoughts??
Here’s the scene where Eko faced down the smoke monster and we got our first real look at it. I thought we might need a refresher.
In honor of People’s Sexiest Man issue, Annie Barrett on EW’s PopWatch has started her own wish list for the sexiest men alive. Topping her list would be none other than Lost’s Henry Ian Cusick, or Desmond! Here’s what she has to say:
If I had my way, the winner would be my fake boyfriend, Henry Ian Cusick fromLost. He’s tall, strong, believable in tie-dye, and (understandably) a little off in the head, just the way I like ‘em. (I embrace this obsession of mine well aware that if not for the accent, I probably wouldn’t care about the dude.)
Even Hurley makes it into EW’s list. I’d have to include Sawyer on my list. So, what do you think?
The Parents Television Council has deemed Lost “Not Suitable” for children aged 2-17. This was not really a surprise to me since the show is filled with violence, suspense, sex, and all other sorts of naughty behavior, but at its core, I think the show has an uplifting message.
According to its website, “The Parents Television Council was founded in 1995 to ensure that children are not constantly assaulted by sex, violence and profanity on television and in other media.” I applaud an organization such as this. Children should be shielded from shows that are not made for them. I do have to question, though, the fact that this council listed Sunday Night Football as “Most Suitable.” Does anybody else find this odd? Is football not all about violence? And do our professional sports stars always behave appropriately on the field and on the sideline? I’m not so sure about that…
