TV Guide’s Preview

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

TV Guide put a mini-review of returning shows on their website, and here’s Lost’s review:

Last we saw the Lost boys and girls, all hell had broken loose: Jack had witnessed Kate and Sawyer acting on their caged passion, then he cut Ben open on the operating table, only to demand that Kate run from the Others or he’d let Ben die. Fans frustrated by the lack of answers in that November finale should be heartened by several developments coming up when the ABC drama returns for an uninterrupted run of episodes starting on Feb. 7. For one, the focus won’t just be on the Others and their captives: Seemingly psychic Desmond, beloved Hurley and mama Claire will all get some flashback love early on. The first episode, however, belongs to the Other-worldly Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) and just may reveal why she asked Jack to off creepy Ben.

Lost returns February 7, and remember that the time is new! It will be on at 9 Central/10 Eastern.

Want to know the Secret Recipe of Lost?

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

According to co-creator Damon Lindelof, the secret recipe is, “Why do people do the things that they do, and can we give the audience an understandable explanation as to why they do the things they do? In an interview published by Wizard Entertainment, Lindelof shares this bit of information and a whole lot more! He tells us a little of what we can look forward to concerning some of the hanging questions. Read those after the jump.

Promo for Season 3’s Return

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Oooooh! Here’s the promo for the rest of season three. There are some scenes we’ve seen before in the nuggets, but there are also quite a few new things we’ve never seen. It looks like it’s going to be really good!

It first looks like Juliet tries to help Kate and Sawyer escape, but then she tells Tom to bring them back even if he has to kill them! I’m sure, of course, that everything’s completely out of order and is supposed to confuse us, but it still looks really good. That’s one thing ABC does well–whet our appetites for upcoming episodes. I just wish they wouldn’t drag it out quite so long…

Matthew Fox on Ellen

Monday, January 8th, 2007

matthew-fox.jpgMy Tivo caught Matthew Fox’s appearance on Thursday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and she asked some of the burning questions we’ve all had about Lost. The most important one was, “How could you not know there was another island??” Fox replied that they haven’t really explored all of the island, so it’s possible that the other island could be viewed from the OTHER side of the island, where they’ve never been. So, there’s one little explanantion.

Ellen also asked how all these nasty and smelly people on the show feel compelled to make out all the time. For that, Fox had no answer. And finally Ellen expressed disappointment that there’s been such a huge break this season. Fox asked if she’d rather have a lot of reruns sprinkled throughout the season or a big break like we’ve had. Ellen replied that she’d rather have a new show on every week. Amen to that!

Emilie de Ravine and Husband Split

Friday, January 5th, 2007

emilie.jpg Sadly, the actress who plays Claire on Lost and her husband of six months have separated. Here’s what People had to say:

Emilie de Ravin, who plays Claire Littleton on ABC’s Lost, has separated from her husband after only six months of marriage, her publicist, Jeff Raymond, tells the Associated Press.

The Australian actress and actor Josh Janowicz, both 25, were married in Melbourne in June of last year.

The article also stated that the two had been dating for around four years before they got married. It always makes me sad to hear of a break up, but I wish them both the best.

We Are Marshall–Review

Thursday, January 4th, 2007

mcconaughey1.jpg

I saw We Are Marshall over the holidays, and I have to say that I enjoyed every minute of it. I also cried throughout most of the movie. It is a tearjerker, to say the least. But with a premise of an entire football team, coaches, and some fans dying in a plane crash, what can you expect? It’s a good movie, and if you enjoy uplifting, “rise from the ashes” kind of movies, you’ll enjoy We Are Marshall. Matthew McConaughey’s enthusiasm as the new head coach of Marshall University is infectious, and he and Matthew Fox are not so bad to look at either.

Lost Nugget 7

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

Wow, they keep getting better. Here it is:

Why in the world would Jack have told Tom that Juliet asked him to kill Ben??? That makes no sense! I know that we’re not sure if Juliet was trying to help Jack by asking him to kill Ben, but it was a good possibility. If Juliet was serious about helping protect Jack, she’s certainly not going to protect him now! I just don’t get it… Unless he was trying to make everybody mad at Juliet and not at him… What do you think?

Lost Nugget 6

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Here’s the sixth nugget courtesy of YouTube. These nuggets are finally giving us what we’re dying for!

So, now it seems we have confirmation that they are on a separate island and that it wasn’t all an illusion to mess with Sawyer’s mind. Kate does decide to run without Jack, but she needs to know how to get off the island. It doesn’t look good for their escape, though. The Others chase them to the beach and shots are fired. Somebody takes out one of the Others as he’s about to shoot Kate. It’s unclear if it’s Sawyer or someone else… Thoughts?

Also, the YouTube posting stated that this clip aired on Thursday. I’m so confused as to when these things are airing. I had posted that we’d be able to get the clips online, but it seems we can only do that if we’re American Express cardholders. I thought they had changed the standards since they took Day Break away. Anybody have a clue what’s going on?

Breakout Star–Michael Emerson

Monday, January 1st, 2007

ben.jpg

Entertainment Weekly has named Michael Emerson, who plays Ben Linus, as a breakout star of 2006 in their special year-end double issue. On playing the seemingly-evil Ben, Emerson states, “It’s a way to live out a delicious fantasy. I’m a fairly mild-mannered and polite person. To play a character who seems to be all that on the surface and yet jerks people around…that’s fun.” He also says he’s not sure that Ben is really all that bad of a guy. According to Emerson, “I have no evidence from the script that [Ben's] really a bad, bad man. I’m still not convinced that he isn’t some kind of a freedom fighter.” I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I love Ben’s character. He’s brought a great new vibe to the show. He’s so creepy, and he seems like he could be trusted, but it’s impossible to know. It’s great!
