According to TV Squad:
Lost’s Jorge Garcia has been nominated for an ALMA award by the National Council of La Raza. The organization, which acknowledges the work of Latinos in film and television, singled out Garcia for his portrayal of Hugo “Hurley” Reyes.
He’s up for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Television Series, Miniseries, or TV Movie. Congrats, Jorge! Good luck on June 5 when the awards will air on ABC.
Lots to discuss, so let’s get right to it!
Joshy C. mentioned (in my previous post) the parachute lady’s line: “Oceanic Flight 815? They found the plane. There were no survivors. They were all dead.” And of course, I replied just like Hurley did–”What??” So, what’s going on? Joshy gave some insight that it could be purgatory, but the producers have repeatedly shot that theory down. He also mentioned it could be the whole time warp issue coming to fruition. Any other thoughts?? I try not to theorize too much, but when they throw something like that out there, what else can we do??
Also, Mikhail’s alive??!!?? So his big, dramatic, bleeding from the ears, foaming from the mouth death was a big charade? It seems so since Mikhail’s the one who responded to Hurley’s shooting off the parachutist’s flare gun. Then, Mikhail removes the stick from the parachutist’s side, and Desmond LETS HIM GO!! Are you kidding me? Charlie has the right idea. Why are we continuing to just let these people go?? By the way, I loved seeing Jin pull out the martial arts on Mikhail. That was great.
In the flashback we learned why Jin’s “working” for Sun’s father instead of being a lowly floor manager. Sun gave in to Jin’s prostitute mother’s demand for $100,000, but she had to get the money from her dad. Sun’s pretty conniving, but I have to believe that her heart’s in the right place. She seemed truly happy that the baby is Jin’s. But Juliet told her that the women who conceived on the island did not live past their second trimester, so will we be saying goodbye to Sun??
Sun decided to trust Juliet. Not such a good move, I’m afraid. I don’t know what Ben has planned, but I don’t have a good feeling. And even though Juliet hates Ben (her words), she’s still working for him. What has he promised her?? What is he going to do for her?
Some lingering questions:
-Why was the parachute lady speaking different languages? Hurley recognized Spanish, Jin recognized Chinese (but he couldn’t understand it), and Mikhail recognized Italian and said that she’d said, “Thank you.” Not so sure I believe that.
-What does Ben have planned?
-Is Jack working with the Others?
-What’s the deal with Oceani Flight 815 being found with no survivors??
Talk to me!
Lost, D.O.C., Sun, Jin, Mikhail, Juliet, no survivors, Oceanic Flight 815
That’s right. We found out who the father of Sun’s baby is, and if you haven’t watched last night’s episode, then stop reading now!
Michael Ausiello has some scoop about the deaths that might occur during the remainder of the season. There’s nothing too spoiler-ish…

Looks like Matthew Fox may be in a new movie. According to Entertainment Weekly, it’s possible Fox could be playing Speedy’s rival, Racer X. You can get more information here.

This week’s episode focuses on Sun and Jin. It’s entitled “D.O.C.,” which I’ve heard stand for “date of conception.” Here’s a preview from Lost Spoilers:
3.18 - D.O.C (Sun/Jin Centered)
Juliet finds out that Sun is pregnant and tells her that women who conceive on the island could die if they carry to term. Sun responds by telling her that the baby may not have been conceived on the island, in fact it may not even be Jin’s child. So the two set off for the medical hatch to try to determine when the baby was conceived. Meanwhile, Desmond and his crew scramble to save the life of the mysterious Naomi and are assisted by an old enemy, seems eye patch guy survived the fence after all.
Lost, D.O.C., Sun, Jin, baby’s father
Evangeline Lilly is going to appear in a movie called Afterwards. It will begin production this summer. According to the article from the CNW Group, here’s a little about the movie:
Afterwards tells the story of Nathan (Romain Duris), a lawyer who is
absorbed by his work and finds himself drifting away from his ex-wife
(Evangeline Lilly) and daughter. He meets Joseph Kay (John Malkovich), a
mysterious doctor who claims to be able to predict people’s deaths.

So, Desmond was a monk? And before he was a monk, he was engaged to Ruth, and he left a week before the wedding? Then, he’s “fired” from being a monk, and he meets Penny as he’s loading her car with the monastery’s wine. I felt these were all very strange revelations about Desmond last night. And I’m not too sure of their importance…
Desmond was also having more “flashes” last night, and he knew that someone was coming. He believed it was Penny, but it ended up being another woman, who called him by name. Des saved Charlie from dying again, but he seemed really hesitant to save him this time. Desmond said that he was supposed to let Charlie die, that maybe this whole thing is a test from God, but Desmond keeps messing with destiny. So, did Desmond’s saving Charlie mean that the outcome he expected (Penny’s arrival) was changed? Does Charlie have to die for Desmond to be reunited with Penny?? But it wasn’t Penny in the parachute… But would it have been Penny if Charlie had died? He said he was not trying to STOP something from happening, so does that mean he was trying to MAKE something happen? Any thoughts? It hurts my head…
The whole Sawyer and Kate thing… I know this storyline is not of the utmost importance in the whole scheme of Lost things most likely, but it’s fun to watch. It’s obvious that Kate has feelings for Jack… I just hope I don’t have to see a heartbroken Sawyer because I don’t know if I could take tough-guy Sawyer breaking down. I know he has too much of a self-preserving nature to ever let himself get attached, but he seems like goo whenever Kate’s around. Poor thing. But could they be any hotter together?? I don’t think so.
So, what did y’all think??
Lost, Catch-22, Lost recap, Desmond, Penny, Jack, Kate, Sawyer
I just love Sawyer. But I’m worried about him. I know he’s the ultimate con man, but Kate could really break his heart… But they sure are hot together!
I’m not going to say last night’s episode was my favorite, but it was interesting. And I’ll have more discussion a little later. Any initial thoughts from you guys? What did you think?
Michael Ausiello at TV Guide has some excellent scoop. It looks like the end of this season is going to be action-packed! Don’t read any farther if you don’t want to be spoiled!
Question: Should we expect one or two more deaths in the final weeks of Lost?— Nick
Ausiello: (Major spoiler alert) Get ready to clutch your pearls: I’m told there will be at least five — count ‘em, five — deaths on Lost during the month of May. Meanwhile, exec producer Carlton Cuse offers this exclusive tease about the show’s two-hour, sure-to-be-blockbuster season finale on May 22: “Let’s just say the end of the season features a showdown between Jack and Locke — a showdown long anticipated and a showdown with an extremely significant outcome for the future of the castaways.” Just 35 days to go!
Kristin at E!Online visited the Lost set in Hawaii, and she has some great interviews with cast members including Evangeline Lilly, Josh Holloway, Michael Emerson, Dominic Monaghan, Jorge Garcia, and more. Click here and look for the Vine video box on the right. There are three videos: Apr. 9, Get ‘Lost,’ and ‘Lost’ Bonus. Watch in that order. Enjoy!

Can it be? Well, apparently episode 19 will have NO flashbacks at all. If I am counting correctly, episode 19 will air May 2. You can check out the (short) article and the lineup for upcoming flashbacks at TV Guide by clicking here.
