Matthew Fox to play Racer X

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Can you still sing the “Speed Racer” song? “Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer… Go…..” Now that I’ve got that stuck in your head for the rest of the day, I do realize that I’ve stumbled into the Lost blog and not the Japanese Anime blog. However, I was so excited to see that our very own Lost hero, Matthew Fox, is playing the infamous and mysterious Racer X in the upcoming live-action Speed Racer movie. The movie, made by the Wachowski brothers of Matrix fame, is slated to be released in 2008. An all-star cast includes Susan Sarandon, John Goodman, and Christina Ricci.
I am a tad too young to remember the original series, but I sat glued to my Cartoon Network many a days. Not only attracted to that very catchy tune, but to the fast-paced storyline. I mean, who doesn’t love the classic good vs. evil/ little guy vs. Big Brother story?
I went digging to see if I could find a trailer of some sort. I didn’t find a trailer, but I did find this little video to give us our “Jack” fix:

I’ll have to keep an eye on how Matthew is doing in his roll as Racer X. And we’ll definitely be excited to see one of our favorite childhood characters come to life.

Holy Schnikes!!! What a show. I think the lady Jack saved was Julliete’s sister. That was her kid that had aged 5 years.

How many lives does Mikhail have?

I don’t believe Jack’s father is alive.

Did anyone other than me catch Ben’s slip? He told Jack that, if he calls the ship, “Every LIVING person on this island will be killed.” Anyone but me think that the “living” was injected purposly? Especially with all of the info lately about no survivors from the flight…wow!

Great episode.

-Do not think that Jack mentioning his father means that his father is alive. No one at the hospital acknowledged such a fact. And when the pharmacist tried to call the office he storms away saying don’t bother. I think he is still living in his father’s shadow and now following his drunken legacy.

- I think Sawyer is in the casket. Ben would never leave the island alive.

- How did Penelope get the signal for the Looking Glass station? I doubt it was a published number.

-Has Desmond lost his power after the whack in the head from Charlie?

Kate says at the end, “he’s going to be wondering where I am.” Does she mean Sawyer? Or does she mean a child? She did mention Juliet tested her for being pregnant.

Jason wrote:
I think it was Locke in the casket. Leaving the island was not something he wanted to do at all, and because of Jack, they left the island and Lock went back to his paralyzed self. Jack felt guilty about it, and when he saw Locke’s funeral announcement in the paper he just lost it. Locke also wouldn’t have anyone show up at the funeral since he had no friends or family.

The name of the funeral home (Hoffs/Drawlar) anagrams to “Flash Forward.”

There are many more comments and some great theories here if you’re interested.

Who’s in the coffin?

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

lost_logo.jpgThere has been much speculation about who’s in the coffin Jack goes to visit at the funeral home. And Kate didn’t seem the least bit upset that this person had died. So, who could it be? Several websites think they have it figured out. Here’s the latest from TV Squad. Also, the fans are commenting like crazy, so be sure to check out the comments. What do you guys think?
