Lost: Just Who is Going To Die in Season 4?

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

jinart.jpgOkay, I’m not saying Jin is going to die, I don’t have correct information on that. But all that talk about major characters dying in the fourth season has led others to theorize Daniel Dae Kim’s character on Lost is going to get the boot soon, simply because he got caught by the police and is slapped with a DUI charge in Honolulu. If we’re to base the show’s history, three other characters have been removed from the show (i.e. killed off) and they all had something in common — a DUI charge.

When I read that news about Kim, I thought the same, like most people. But no one has actually come forward with a definite account. Information about who dies is, of course, a well-guarded secret. What spoilers sites do have are the following information.

  • TV Guide: 01/30 - I’m hearing that a significant death occurs sometime after Episode 4, but before Episode 8. Kate and Sawyer will have one innocent night of canoodling.
  • TV Guide: 12/26 - There will be at least two deaths in the first eight episodes.
  • GDA interview of Elizabeth Mitchell - “There are still lots of people left to die. There are many deaths… people exploding and things like that.”
  • TV Guide: 10/24 - Rumors about a death occurring during the first half of the season are unequivocally, 100 percent true.
  • The Fuselage: 10/14 - Jorge Garcia confirmed that there would be another death this season.

So, Lost fans — who do you think it is going to die? And if it were actually Jin, would you have liked that idea?

Lost: Memorable Quotes from The Beginning of The End

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Hurley: Stop! Don’t you know who I am? Stop, wait, don’t you know who I am? I’m one of the Oceanic six! I’m one of the Oceanic six!!!

Charlie: Can we just talk? Don’t freak out like you did in the Gas Station.
Hurley: Im trying to buy some Jerky and a Slushy and suddenly youre standing there by the Hohos!! You’re dead! What do you expect me to do?

Jack: Where is it?
Ben: Ok I probably should have told you that I saw her take the phone but you beat me up, Jack. I owed you one.
Jack: What are you talking about?
Ben: Kate took it when she hugged you. … She found the right trail too but you wouldn’t listen to her, so I guess she’s taken matters into her own hands. But look on the bright side, at least somebody around here knows what the hell they’re doing.

Jack: You’re telling me she stopped bleeding here?
Rousseau: No. I’m telling you that she fooled us. Doubled back.
Ben: Better call the boat. Tell em she’s getting a real big bundle of firewood.
(Phone ringing)
Kate: That’s our ride.

Desmond: We need to get to Jack. We can’t let him get in touch with that boat.
Sawyer: Easy Scottie, everything’s cool, boat is on the way.

Mike: You wanna’ know a funny coincidence?
Hurley: Sure.
Mike: I knew someone on your plane.
Hurley: Really?
Mike: Her name was Ana-Lucia Cortez, she was my partner before I made detective. Dark hair, gorgeous. Maybe you knew her…maybe you met her on the plane, before it took off?
Hurley: Sorry, never met her.

Note: Mike was actually telling him the truth. If you’ve forgotten, here he is in one of the flash forwards (Ana Lucia’s):

Ben: Jack, with your permission I would like to go with John
Jack to Locke: He’s all yours.

Naomi, on the phone: Tell my sister I love her.

Note: By the way, what’s the deal with that? Is this a coded message? Why did the Naomi lie to her rescue team about what happened to her?

Daniel (the rescuer): Are you Jack?

Lost Season 4 Episode 1 The Beginning of The End

Friday, February 1st, 2008

Where the show last left off, there was tension everywhere. Locke has stabbed Naomi when the Losties were counting on her to help them get off the island; Ben is helpless under Jack, who ends up capturing him; and we lost Charlie who has made one sacrifice before drowning to his death, by relaying a message to them to not trust the people coming to rescue.

After all those times we’ve waited, it is finally here. And while they await the rescuers, everything that seemed alright, now wasn’t.

hurley.jpgKicking off Lost’s Season 4 with a solid episode entitled “The Beginning of The Endâ€?, was a Hurley-centric episode…which is great. I don’t think we’ve seen much of his story last season, didn’t we? It opens with a flash forward — something the show has surprised us with at the end of last season (with Kate and Jack). This time, the flash forwards are of Hurley’s, as we slowly see him driving himself with madness. Has he really gone crazy or are those hallucinations real? He is being chased by the police in a future event and was brought in for questioning. What was he running away from? And when the police ask if he would he want to go back to the nut house? One would have thought to say no, but Hurley was actually glad to be back in there.

hurley2.jpgAt the mental institution Hurley is visited by a mysterious man who says he’s from Oceanic airlines and is offering Hurley a room upgrade. But something he asked made Hurley very upset. “Are they still alive? that man asked. Who was he pertaining to? And why was Hurley so upset about it?

Back to the present timeline, in the island, everyone’s in high spirits. They had made contact with the rescuers and they could be enjoying a decent meal and bed space before the day is over. Hurley even did the cannonball by the beach. They were that hopeful. But while everyone was anticipating with hope, Ben tells Danielle to take their daughter away because he doesn’t think it will be safe with the “rescuers arriving. Daniel does not believe him.
