May You Have A Meaningful Christmas

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

I know that Season 5 is only days away but I am taking this time to spend the holidays with friends and family off in an island somewhere. But I am leaving you with this beautiful Lost Christmas Tribute I found off Youtube —

See you in 2009!

Lost Postcards for Season 5

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Sometime last week, a bunch of postcards or e-cards at the official Lost website went on display. I’m not liking the designs, but those postcards aren’t there as an eye candy. Fans think these are another bunch of clues for the upcoming season.

This one to the right, is obviously a image of Sawyer looking out to the sea…perhaps wondering if he’s ever going to see the six again.

The postcard with the tagline “Get Away To Find Yourself” has a beach in the background. It’s the perfect card to send to someone like Jack.

“Return to the Island” postcard has the image of an airplane on it. That’s what we’re all expecting to happen for the upcoming season, isn’t it? It’s the same thing for the postcard with the words “Come Back” on it.

We see the black smoke monster again in the postcard with the tagline “Expect the Unexpected”.  I don’t even wanna get a card like this…but going with the show, is this thing going to be making its appearance this season again?

“The Island Cures What Ails You” is a postcard aptly dedicated to someone like Locke or Rose. But why it’s part of this whole set is my question — is this in reference to what we will come to know this season? Is there going to be answers for this, finally?

Here are the rest of the postcards. Which  design do you like the best? I actually like the one with Sawyer’s image. The rest though are pretty fantastic, too.

Lost New Teaser: Locke Speaks Backwards

Friday, December 19th, 2008

I have lost count of how many previews and teasers there are of Lost now. And I really don’t intend to watch every single one of it because a good number of those teasers may spoil my viewing come January. But this latest one is really, really making a lot of the fans very curious.

I haven’t decided if I should watch it. But based on the comments from other people, this new teaser is very different from the ones previously released.

New York Magazine calls this version tantalizing. It includes

  • a monk scribbling formulas on a blackboard
  • a man plummeting off a balcony! Some dude completely engulfed in flames
  • and Lost’s Locke appearing to speak backwards

Curious enough? Watch the teaser:

After viewing that, check what Locke supposedly did say, as this site has tried to reverse the audio and haven’t really come up with a solid conclusion.

Lost Fan Gift Suggestion - Lost Tote Bags

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

It’s not too late to make your Christmas gift purchase!  If you haven’t bought something for your Lost junkie friend and if you’re thinking of something to get a Lost Fan, then look no further and spend at least $12 for these bags (they are pretty affordable, huh?):

lost-totes

I found them at this site. These are natural canvas tote bags, called Flight 815 Tote Bag. They are super perfect for anyone who breathes and dreams of Lost.

Lost cast member Daniel Dae Kim is going to be in a London production of the King and I. But there’s no cause to worry, there’s no reason to wonder if Jin is dead or alive or coming back to the show. The play will only run for one month in June 2009. It will be staged at the Royal Albert Hall.

Keile Sanchez to Showtime’s End of Steve

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Keile Sanchez was briefly in the third and fourth season of Lost (she was only part of a flashback in the fourth, if I remember correctly) so to some viewers of the show, she may have already been forgotten.

In Lost, she played Nikki Fernandez…the woman our Losties thought had died along with her boyfriend, that they ended up burying them alive on the island. Here is a profile of her character on Lostpedia.

The actress will soon star in a TV series on Showtime. She will play opposite Matthew Perry in The End of Steve.

Penny Is Doing More Flash Forwards

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

14802658451press1292008115536PM

The actress who plays Penny on Lost, Sonya Walger, is doing a new series for ABC and it may be one kind of a show she’s most likely familiar or comfortable with by now, because it has a similar premise as Lost — time traveling.

The story is based on Robert J. Sawyer’s sci-fi novel. Entitled “Flash Foward”, according to the Hollywood Reporter, this will be about “the chaos that ensues after everyone in the world passes out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds and has a vision of the future.”

Sonya Walger will play Olivia, a woman who has visions of being in love with another man (Desmond?!). Joining Sonya will be Joseph Fiennes who will play Mark Banford, her husband and Christine Woods who will play an FBI agent trying to uncover the case.

The Constant is Time Magazine’s #1 TV Episode for 2008

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Could not say I’m surprised of this choice. This was good TV, man. This was the episode that made what this show is clearer for all of us. The execution was perfect, too.

Who could forget this?

Here’s what Time Magazine had to say about it —-

  • At its best, Lost rips your heart out while it ties your brain in a knot. This season 4 episode did both expertly. Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) has been experiencing premonitions of the future since becoming “unstuck in time” (a la Slaughterhouse Five) earlier in the series. It turns out that he’s been time-traveling, or rather, his mind has: his consciousness is journeying between present, future and past. (It makes sense when you watch, trust me.) The unfortunate side effects of this condition are madness and death, avoidable only by focusing on a “constant”: a person or thing present in each time one’s consciousness visits. Desmond’s constant, he learns, is Penny (Sonya Walger), the girlfriend he left behind when he was stranded on Lost’s mysterious island. His journey into his own past to find her in the present is tear-jerking and mind-blowing.
Time Magazine also chose Lost as one of TV’s Top 10 shows this year. The complete list is here.

Josh Holloway is Gonna Be A Daddy!

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Josh Holloway, the actor playing Sawyer on Lost, will become a daddy in real life. He and his wife, Yessica Kumala, are expecting a little bundle in 2009. It will be their first child.

The couple has been married in 2004 but didn’t want to have children yet. But as Josh Holloway told USA Today in an interview last March on the subject of having children — “We have changed our minds … only recently. Basically, nature happened.”

The actor is 39 years old, ripe enough to become a new daddy, don’t you think?

Congratulations to the couple! With their genes, the baby will definitely be very beautiful!
