Hey everyone…
I just would like to advise readers and visitors of this site to please expect a few downtimes here, as we move to a better and faster server within the next few days. The site may be inaccessible for a while.
Thanks you for your patience.
Big apologies for the unexpected downtime. 451Press has had major server issues, we had to wait for days until this was resolved.
But it seems everything is fine now. I hope.
I’m just gonna be catching up on some belated news in the next couple of days, don’t be surprised if you read about stuff you should have read about a week ago. It’s just my way of getting right back on track.
Thanks for sticking around!
Hello, Losties! I’ll begin my first update on this blog by rounding up some of the recognitions the show has received this year. Sad to say though, unlike the previous seasons, the honors given to this show of late, have not come pouring.
For this year’s Screen Actor’s Guild nomination, Lost was passed over by their colleagues for any kind of major recognition. You might remember that Lost earned the award for Best Ensemble - Drama from this award giving body in 2006. But this time around, the show’s only nomination is for“Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series”. Great for the stunt people (and congratulations, too!) but not so great for the whole show.
At the Writers Guild Awards, the episode Flashes Before Your Eyes, which was written by Damon Lindelof & Drew Goddard, earned one nomination for the category, Episodic Drama. It is up against Mad Men, The Sopranos, The Wire, The Closer and Dexter. The full list of nominees is found here and the winners will be announced on February 9th.
The show did pretty well in terms of the number of nominations at the Directors Guild Awards, the ceremony of which will be held on January 26th. Jack Bender, who directed the episode “Through the Looking Glass” is a first time DGA nominee while Eric Laneuville, who directed “The Brig” is a fourth time nominee and a previous winner for his work on NYPD Blue and LA Law.
Good luck to all the nominees! And with the fourth season coming very, very soon…can I just say — you go get them next year!

Damon Lindelof, and Marc Cherry, creater of Desparate Housewives, join the picketers on the ABC/Dinsey lot earlier this week. They make their point in a simple way, eventually the internet will be our main source for television viewing. Do writers make any money from the internet, their broadcasters websites, or all that wonderful advertising placed on those websites? Nope.
See what they have to say:
To stay up to date with the WGA’s strike, and who is supporting them (people from Scrubs, Desparate Housewives, Heroes, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, as well as Drew Carey, Joss Whedon, Jesse Jackson…. I could go on and on with supporters), and to sign the petition, bookmark this blog called United Hollywood. WGA is also video blogging on You Tube, so be sure to check that out as well.
Season 3 on DVD will be released on December 11, 2007. True Lost fans have this reserved already! Of course I have *intentions* to reserve it. That’s close enough. And what we really want is the Special Features. A lot happened last season and I need to freshen up before Season 4 starts. But I just want to see all the extras that come with the DVD. And oh boy is this set packed with extras!
If you haven’t yet, pre-order this DVD now! You know you want it.

126 days until Season 4 Premier!
And indeed I will be very “lost” without Charlie on the show. Watching the “Greatest Hits” episode gave us a sort of closure as well as a bigger glimpse into Charlie’s life. But, there was a part of me that kept thinking he wasn’t really going to die. Even up till the very last second, eventhough I had already read about Dominic’s release from the show, I still had hope. Call me an optimist! I just didn’t want to let go.
Dominic Monaghan might have said good-bye to Charlie, but he has plans for the future. He’s starring in the new horror flick I Sell The Dead, which is set to release later this year. In the movie Dominic plays a grave robber named Arthur Blake who, well, here’s the rundown direct from the movie website:
Body Snatchers Arthur Blake and Willie Grimes have pillaged their last grave. With just five hours before Arthur follows Willie to the chopping block, he recounts his life story to Fr Francis Duffy. It soon becomes clear that Blake and Grimes were no ordinary grave robbers. And through his stories the priest learns that not all corpses are equal.
I Sell The Dead is a kaleidoscope of terror that will leave you questioning life, death and what lies between.
I Sell The Dead also stars one of my all time favorite actors, the legendary Ron Perlman who plays Fr. Francis Duffy.
The TV Guide interview from May 2007 gives a little more insight as to why Lost is saying good-bye to Charlie. Dominic also says that he is looking into the possibility of hosting a nature show, and maybe working with Peter Jackson on some upcoming projects.
I was first taken with Dominic when he had furry feet and trekked across Middle Earth, I dug Charlie the bad-boy on Lost, and I’m sure I will be into whatever Dominic does next.
But… what will Claire and Aaron do without Charlie?
167 days until Lost season 4 premier!
Jodie Foster! I think you’ve truly hit the big time when you get to play Jodie Foster’s lover on the big screen.
Also starring Terrence Howard and Mary Steenburgen, The Brave One is set to release in theatres September 14.
Look for Naveen Andrews and Jodie to steam up the screen as they play an engaged couple who’s life doesn’t turn out like they plan. Naveen’s character is brutally killed, and while Foster’s character tries to make sense of it, she becomes a vigilante by tracking down the ones who took her fiance’ from her. Suspense, thrills, twists… all the qualities in a film that we know Jodie accels at. And looking forward to seeing a new side of Naveen as well!

Can you still sing the “Speed Racer” song? “Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer… Go…..” Now that I’ve got that stuck in your head for the rest of the day, I do realize that I’ve stumbled into the Lost blog and not the Japanese Anime blog. However, I was so excited to see that our very own Lost hero, Matthew Fox, is playing the infamous and mysterious Racer X in the upcoming live-action Speed Racer movie. The movie, made by the Wachowski brothers of Matrix fame, is slated to be released in 2008. An all-star cast includes Susan Sarandon, John Goodman, and Christina Ricci.
I am a tad too young to remember the original series, but I sat glued to my Cartoon Network many a days. Not only attracted to that very catchy tune, but to the fast-paced storyline. I mean, who doesn’t love the classic good vs. evil/ little guy vs. Big Brother story?
I went digging to see if I could find a trailer of some sort. I didn’t find a trailer, but I did find this little video to give us our “Jack” fix:
I’ll have to keep an eye on how Matthew is doing in his roll as Racer X. And we’ll definitely be excited to see one of our favorite childhood characters come to life.
It may not be as exciting as what Rod Stewart was singing about, but it’s pretty darn close. That’s right, tonight we will see our first new episode of Lost since November 8. Can you believe it’s been that long?? It’s unbelievable. I am so looking forward to writing about actual episodes rather than speculating on what OTHER people have said about what MAY happen on upcoming episodes. I know you’ll all be waiting for the big recap after the show, and I promise to deliver. Many, many thanks to those of you who have stuck around during the long hiatus. I hope you’ve found something interesting and entertaining on this little site of mine to keep you occupied. Check back tomorrow for the full recap and the discussion that follows!
Here’s the latest promo that’s been running. I can’t wait for tonight!!
Remember, the review show starts at 8pm Central, and the new episode starts at 9pm Central.
Have you ever wished you could let the producers of your favorite shows know what you’d like to see happen? Well, Touchstone Television (creators of Lost and other ABC shows) is giving you an opportunity to become a part of an advisory panel to share opinions and ideas about your favorite shows. Click here to see if you qualify.
I’m not sure what they’re looking for, but I did not qualify for some reason. Maybe I’m not the right age or not watching the right shows or something. Let me know if any of you are accepted. I’m so disappointed!

Like The Office did this past summer, Lost will begin producing webisodes. These webisodes will be new content focusing on different characters in the cast. It hasn’t been announced which characters will be appearing in the webisodes. It sounds like these webisodes will be independent of the ongoing storylines, so we probably won’t be getting many answers to our lingering questions. I’m guessing this might be similar to The Lost Experience last summer. I’m interested in knowing who will be featured. Production starts in July, so maybe we’ll get more information then. So, will you be watching the webisodes?

Lost-Media is reporting that a review clip show is scheduled to air before the brand new episode on Wednesday, February 7. The clip show will begin at 8 P.M. Central, and the new episode will follow in Lost’s new time slot at 9 P.M. Central. I guess we all may need a little review.
The cast and creators of Lost will be participating in a panel discussion hosted by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (the Emmy people, if you didn’t know) on Saturday, January 13. It will begin at 7:30 P.M. Pacific, but the webcast will begin at 8 P.M. Pacific at www.emmys.tv.
Featured on the panel will be a total of 11 cast members including Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly, as well as creators J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof and executive producers Bryan Burk, Jack Bender, Jeff Pinkner and Carlton Cuse.
I can’t wait!

Well, this film is getting rave reviews from fans on IMDB, but there’s no official release date. I’m a sucker for indie films, so I hope I can catch this one when it’s finally released. Jorge Garcia plays a sex addict named Sergio. I’m not sure what I think about that, but here’s what some are saying about the film:
From ajkirkwood: Saw the world premiere of this film just now and I have to say IT ROCKS! Awesome story of a really really bad day in the life of a writer with writer’s block. Just one bad thing after another happens and goes from bad to worse until the final resolution. The cast works together quite seamlessly and the women are hott! Well written, well acted and well produced. See it and you’ll understand. Well worth you time and coin. I sincerely hope we see more from Wayne Reynolds in the future. Wayne Reynolds plays the lead and he feels so familiar, and after the appearance of Jorge Garcia make it all click..it is reminiscent of LOST, with Wayne in the role of Locke. Great depth of character development all the way around.
From fatigcat: I was able to see the first public showing of Sweetzer this last weekend at the Providence, Rhode Island film festival and was into it. It has a great ensemble cast, my favorite performances were from Bryan Callen (hilarious with amazing energy), Jorge Garcia and from newcomer Jessa French. There were very funny moments throughout and yet the film was still able to have a very touching and rewarding storyline. The ending was satisfying & emotional and definitely crept up on us. Overall, I was able to be totally engaged with the story — even with the sound and projection problems the theater was having during the showing. Wonderful little movie - I can’t believe they made this thing for like 75 grand!
