Said by Josh Holloway in an interview with Company Magazine:
“The whole sex-symbol thing is really strange. I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. I appreciate the opportunity to work, the cash it gives you, and other things it provides are wonderful. But the celebrity thing… I don’t like attention. Like anybody, it’s impossible not to feel self-conscious if someone’s looking at you all the time, everywhere you go. If someone approaches me and asked for a picture and I say no, then I’ll feel like an ass. But if I say OK, I’ll often end up doing another picture and another. Then my wife gets upset and we have a fight and that’s not good either.”
Awww.
This is totally not related to the series in any way (or is it?) but how uncanny is it for this foundation to be named after a very integral character of Lost? And how amusing it is to read through the foundation’s thrust and find this:

Evangeline Lilly has already made plans when Lost is done in 2010. The actress is considering an early retirement from acting. Speaking before the press, the actress said quite a handful about her past, present and future after Lost —-
Michael Emerson talks to New York Magazine about what’s ahead for Ben in Season 5. Some spoiler alert in store though…
Matthew Fox is gracing the pages of Details Magazine this month, which also include a very insightful interview. Some scans of the article may be found here. The man is looking good, I must say.
Let us step away from news and updates about the program for a moment and set our attention to one of today’s biggest stories involving an actor from Lost. This one really caught my attention. It’s as if this was an episode from Lost and Kate had to fight to keep custody of Aaron. Except that this is real life and it’s happening to a real family…with a real, vulnerable child involved.
I wasn’t aware Naveen Andrews had a son and that he is currently with Barbara Hershey. (And her, I remember from old 80’s flicks.)
According to news, the couple had been undergoing a “courtroom battle royale” in order to gain custody of Naveen’s 3 year old boy from his mother, Elana Eustache. The custody battle, based on pictures now all over the internet, did not look really good, especially with the boy’s mom bawling and wailing over the decision by the court. She lost her son to the actor. You can check for the photos here.
The court has granted Naveen temporary custody of his son, Naveen Joshua, after Elana broke the terms of her agreement, one that stipulated shared custody of the boy…then. News say she supposedly took the boy out of LA without permission and has been preventing the father and son from seeing each other.
With the new decision and the father getting sole custody, Elana isn’t even allowed by the court to see her son.
Permanent sole custody will be granted to Naveen later this month, should things go well with his family.
How many days left? Just under two weeks right? How many previews and teasers have you watched? They’ve released a couple more during the holidays but I personally didn’t try to take a peek; I’m trying to keep my excitement intact.
But here is a message from Evangeline Lilly regarding the flow of her character’s story in the first half of the upcoming season. In an interview with TV Mag, the actress is telling us fans we should all be patient when we’re watching the scenes unfold:
Kate is a very different person now: she has been “rescued” from the Island and became a mother. This season, I want to ask fans to summon up patience, because the first half is very complicated… It’s like a puzzle, where we will learn about the characters only step by step. In the second half, your patience will be rewarded!
It sounds like we’re in for another mysterious ride, isn’t it? But what is Lost without the mystery, anyway?
Lost cast member Daniel Dae Kim is going to be in a London production of the King and I. But there’s no cause to worry, there’s no reason to wonder if Jin is dead or alive or coming back to the show. The play will only run for one month in June 2009. It will be staged at the Royal Albert Hall.
The press release follows after the cut…
Josh Holloway, the actor playing Sawyer on Lost, will become a daddy in real life. He and his wife, Yessica Kumala, are expecting a little bundle in 2009. It will be their first child.
The couple has been married in 2004 but didn’t want to have children yet. But as Josh Holloway told USA Today in an interview last March on the subject of having children — “We have changed our minds … only recently. Basically, nature happened.”
The actor is 39 years old, ripe enough to become a new daddy, don’t you think?
Congratulations to the couple! With their genes, the baby will definitely be very beautiful!
Marsha Thomason, the actress who played Dharma’s Naomi Dorrit, is joining the cast of White Collar, a USA Network program from Fox Studios. It will star Matthew Boomer as a con artist who will help the FBI’s white-collar crime unit.
Marsha will play the role of a junior agent named Diana Lansing.
The series is scheduled for the 2009-2010 season.
Jorge Garcia (Hurley on Lost) provides some production tidbits during filming of Lost in his personal blog. The actor candidly explains, complete with diagrams, the different ways in which the sound people attach microphones on to him. Filming Lost on the beach, it’s understandably harder to capture audible sound amidst the waves and the wind. That’s why they have to get extra crafty by cutting holes in his pockets.
Jorge also shows us some behind the scene clips to how certain scenes from Season 4 are filmed. This scene in particular was taken at the baracks, during the attack on Ben’s house, when Hurley was trying to break a window so that Sawyer and Claire can get inside.

Entertainment Weekly has listed the 25 Smartest People in TV land today and the teams of Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, as well as JJ Abrams made it to the list. Of course, as you should know, they are the ones who gave us Lost.
Team Darlton is credited at #15 while JJ Abrams, though now visibly absent from the series, is at #18.
EW is reporting a new casting call going out to someone between the ages of 8 to 12 and who can speak Arabic. The same casting call also appeared on this spoilers site.
[FATHER]
40s, must speak Arabic. A domineering and quick-tempered father who’s trying to bring his boys up properly. Feels he has to teach his son a lesson about how to be a real man. CO-STAR.
[OLDER BOY]
12, must speak Arabic. Sensitive and kind-hearted, he’s scared of his domineering father and knows he’s a sad disappointment. CO-STAR.
[YOUNG BOY]
8, must speak Arabic. Quiet and thoughtful who loves his older brother and is protective of him, can do what his father asks calmly and coolly. CO-STAR.
From the sound of it, we should be looking at a Sayid flashback in one of the episodes, one that will obviously date back to his childhood. Is he going to be the young boy or is he going to be the older brother? There’s a grumpy old dad in this equation too.
