Dark, Violent, Casualties is how Michael Emerson describes Lost Season Finale

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

michael emerson ben linus lost.jpg

TV Guide has the latest interview with Michael Emerson and describes the finale in three words: Dark. Violent. Casualties. Which is probably why one of TV Guide’s columnist, Ausiello, confirms there will be three deaths from the original cast members in the season finale. Three. Tres. 3.

Anyway, Michael also also shares what he feels about a possible Emmy nomination this year.

Some parts of the interview is right after the jump…

Focus on Kevin Durand

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

keamy kevin durandPlaying Keamy on Lost had fans really angry at him and he says to blame it all on Ben! He also says he has yet to get caught up with Lost’s previous seasons, he has seen only about half of Season 1! Here’s a candid profile of the actor playing Keamy, Kevin Durand.

Growing up playing ice hockey helped him land a role in the 1999 comedy Mystery, Alaska, alongside Russell Crowe, who became his mentor — and bandmate. Durand sang backup and even resurrected his rap skills on Gaslight, the debut album by Crowe’s band, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts. (Fans curious about his rhyming skills can check out the track Nowhere.)Their paths crossed again last year in the Western 3:10 to Yuma — this time with bloodshed. “Russell thought it was funny because he got to kill me,” he jokes.

Focus on Ken Leung

Monday, May 26th, 2008

ken_leung.jpg

Ken Leung, who plays Miles in the Lost series, won the approval of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse when they saw him on The Sopranos, according to this article about the actor on the Washington Post. It also says that Ken and his character share a lot of things in common since the actor is a quite reclusive in real life and seems to have this permanent scowl on his face… (more…)

Evangeline Lilly and Josh Holloway on Kimmel

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Lost Eve and Josh

Two Lost stars made a point to visit Jimmy Kimmel on his show last week, to promote Lost’s season finale.

Evangeline Lilly was on the show May 14th and she gamely ate a Subway sandwich. Jimmy Kimmel gave her one since this marked her 5th appearance on the program. She wasted no time eating it claiming she was really hungry. And she continued to eat the sandwich even after the rest of the show (she looked like a little girl and it was a biiiig sandwich!). Eve animatedly talked about just having had her teeth shortened, since she keep seeing that one teeth of hers was longer on TV. She also talked about speaking French and sounding like a Dutch girl and getting wasted after the Lost after party recently.

Josh Holloway on the other hand isn’t a frequent Kimmel visitor, so…no sandwich for him. He was on the show the night after Eve. He went to the interview wearing a “stolen shirt” and continues to talk about how the shirt he is wearing ended up in his possession. He also shared about poaching his dad’s underwear as a young child. Kimmel broached the idea of getting killed in the show in upcoming episodes. And Josh says it’s always a possibility but since his character remains in the island, one of the show’s main element, he believes he is with the “big guys”. He especially likes that his character wasn’t chosen to return to US mainland, because he’s not ready for a courtroom scene.

Matthew Fox on Leno

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Matthew Fox was on Leno last week to promote Speed Racer. He spoke about having had appendectomy when he was younger and had to spend 8 days at the hospital, vis-a-vis the faux-appendectomy he had on Lost, which took….moments. He also spoke of spending this summer in his ranch with his family, as well as spending time with his family’s Italian side as his wife is from there.

The second part of the interview deals with Speed Racer and he expressed his thoughts on how it’s doing in the box office.

This was a pretty serious interview as Matthew Fox appears to be a pretty intense person. But a revealing interview, nonetheless.

Daniel Dae Kim on IGN and SciFi Wire

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

sunjin.jpg Daniel Dae Kim recently talked to these media outfits but provides really safe answers about the fate of his character on Lost. But from what he said, it’s clear to me, Jin is still very much alive.

“Nobody is ever done on the show, and we’re not really quite sure whether I’m dead or not…. Everyone is looking for answers and there’s only so long I would be able to watch a show about castaways without wondering when are they getting back or are they?” | IGN

“The writers–regardless of whether we’re ready to say goodbye to it or not–the writers have such a way of continuing to delve into the characters,” he said. “So there always seems to be more story to tell.” | Sci-Fi Wire

‘Juliet is the role of a lifetime’ - Elizabeth Mitchell

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

juliet on lost.jpg

“She’s my favorite, my favorite I’ve ever played, she’s massively fun for me,” said Mitchell. “She captivated me, everything they wrote captivated me. It has nothing to do with my performance, had I read it in a book I would have been captivated.”

Lost Rounding-Up Videos (Hurley on Lil’ Bush, Emilie De Ravin, Lindelof and Cuse on Kimmel)

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Jorge Garcia (Hurley) on Lil’ Bush, which parodied the series, Lost.

Emilie de Ravin (Claire) in the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival

Jimmy Kimmel talks to Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse - Funny!

This was an interview after last week’s episode (Jack and Kate centric love story).
- The duo confirms JJ Abrams is still in touch and still knows about what is happening on the show.
- They get sick in the island if they “fall out of communion” with it.
- They made a joke about actors being killed off.
- They said Michael Emerson was supposed to remain as guest but turned out to be “awesome”,
- Terence Howard was on the seat with them, also as guest of Kimmel’s and he says he did audition way back for the part of Michael. He appeared to try to get into the show again.
- The duo feels there are in the Senate hearing with Kimmel’s questions…
- There’s a big spoiler clip in the end.

Lost Round-Up May 5th

Monday, May 5th, 2008

How is Lost doing on the ratings lately? It’s been quite a disappointment. Last week’s episode posted the lowest since the season premiere earlier this year. Here’s a rundown of the ratings for Season 4 so far:

  • 16.7M The Beginning of the End
  • 15.06M Confirmed Dead
  • 13.62M The Economist
  • 13.53M Eggtown
  • 12.9M The Constant
  • 13.0M The Other Woman
  • 11.87M Ji Yeon
  • 11.28M Meet Kevin Johnson
  • 12.4M The Shape of Things to Come
  • 11.14M Something Nice Back Home

josh holloway sexy.jpgThe dwindling may be attributed to a lot of factors, including the effects of the strike. Viewers may also prefer watching the show on DVD or DVR recordings to follow the story easily. The show’s lead-in, Grey’s Anatomy, isn’t exactly also doing better with ratings.

The EW’s Doc Jensen talks to Jeff Jensen (actually, himself) on why he thinks Lost has some connection the movie Indiana Jones.

After Ellen is wondering where the women have gone in this season’s Lost. I haven’t noticed it myself until the writer points out — “All the women on the show are now either pregnant, being a mother, or busy mooning over a man (or two).” I am in fact missing the Juliet I’ve come to know in Season 3 — the take charge Juliet who manipulates even the likes of Ben.

Oh, but the men of Lost, at least two of them, are voted Sexiest Men on Television by Stylist. Matthew Fox is Number 6, Josh Holloway is 11th out of 12 men.

Lost Fever Returns. Check these out first!

5.jpg

Yup, I know…I know… tonight, we’re going to get our minds all confused again, as the ninth episode returns. But before you sit down in front of the TV later, why not check out these links first and build the excitement up:

1. Play the newest Lost interactive game: LOSTscape. I haven’t tried but those who do will stand to win amazing prizes like a trip to the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego in the summer. This trip includes plane tickets and hotel accommodation for two, plus a meet and greet with the cast members. It’s pretty cool! Participants have to look for 34 items (which bear clips and sneak peeks, too!) to be eligible for a chance to win the prize.

2. Watch tons of sneak peeks of The Shape of Things To Come on E! I did not try to click on any of the videos, though. Didn’t want to spoil myself. Incidentally, there are plenty of other interviews from the cast of Lost on the E! website:

3. Read Jimmy Kimmel’s interview with Lost Producers Lindelof and Cuse … and another one with the AV Club

Josh Holloway in Turkey

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

josh holloway on guitars

What was Josh Holloway doing in Turkey last weekend? Apparently, he was there to shoot an ice cream commercial. But aside from that he also appeared in a popular local live program, Beyaz Show, and witnessed some Belly dancing first hand. He seemed to have enjoyed it very much:

Watch his interview clips, now making the rounds on YouTube: Video 1 | Video 2He had an interpreter help him out during the interview, where he was, as expected, charming and funny among the women (and there were lots of them with him on stage!) He had no problem reeling the audience in, even with the language barrier. They talked about Lost, of course, but the only thing he said about the fate of his character, Sawyer, was that — he still has a job.

The show’s host Beyaz, gave him gifts to also give to the cast of the series. He also complimented him Josh for being a warm and down to earth person and Josh was really very gracious.

They also took time to show the host taking his pictures. This program, I admit, was bizarre to watch, yet very amusing at the same time.

Sighting Lost Characters in other TV Shows this week

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

The supporting cast of Lost (dead or alive) are rather busy appearing on other programs these past few weeks. I just read from the Bones website, that MC Gainey, otherwise known as Mr. Friendly, was in a the latest Bones episode, The Man in The Mud, playing the lawyer Braxton Smalls. I haven’t seen that episode yet, so I think I’m gonna get caught up with it over the weekend or wait for it on cable TV.

The other week, I was watching Christina Applegate’s adorable comedy, Samantha Who? where Sam was attempting to win her boyfriend back (episode title: The Girlfriend). The boyfriend, Todd (played by Barry Watson) was already seeing someone else and I sure didn’t like the new girlfriend any better than Sam. And I realized why…she was Nikki (played by Kiele Sanchez)!  And she was just as scheming as her character on Lost.

GW220H150.jpgWell, this one isn’t current but I am just recently trying to catch the early seasons of Boston Legal (circa 2004) on our cable channel… and who did I see there this week but a very gorgeous Juliet, all cleaned-up and wearing sophisticated clothing. Except that she was not Juliet but the actress Elizabeth Mitchell playing Christine Pauley, James Spader’s character’s ex-girlfriend on the legal drama series. She too was a lawyer in this story and I saw parts of a devious Juliet in her eyes…It sent me chills!

And lastly, this I did not see this week, but I read the good news. If you’re a fan of Fisher Stevens (Minowski on Lost), I’m sure you will be pleased to know that his former TV series, Early Edition, is coming out on DVD! The set is due for release June 24th.

Desmond’s Fate on Lost: Is he dying?

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Desmond Dying on LostHenry Ian Cusick, who plays Desmond Hume on Lost, is having this feeling that Desmond will die on the series. He tells Washington Post of this hunch, in a recent interview with them. Although he says, he doesn’t mind if his character dies on the show: People who have died have gotten great story lines. Dying is not a bad thing because on “Lost,” even if you do die, you may well come back.

The actor also relays, he doesn’t know if Desmond will ever get to see Penny and sounding like fans who speculate on what happens to the characters on the series, he thinks Desmond remains in the island, with other survivors.

Outside of Lost, the actor reveals that they don’t own a television set when the whole family moved to Hawaii for Lost. When we lived in England, the kids would come home from school and sit down in front of the TV until dinnertime and it used to drive me bananas. When we got to Hawaii, I said, “That’s it. We’re not having a TV.” I thought, we live by the sea. There’s so much to do here, we don’t need a TV. The only thing I miss is the news and soccer, but I can get that online.

When asked what his plans are after Lost, and should his character be taken off the script, Henry Ian Cusick reveals that his kids need a more permanent place, since they have begun schooling but because of the nature of his work, his family have been more or less just going with the flow.
