Lost: Hurley on Season 4
Excerpts from this New York Daily News interview with Jorge Garcia, who plays Hurley on Lost:
As one of the stars of ABC’s megahit drama “Lost,” Jorge Garcia hears a lot of crazy theories about the true meaning of the crash of Oceanic Air flight 815 and the mysterious island where the survivors are stranded.
“I’ve been stuck on the one where people say that we were all cloned and that the show is about our clones,” Garcia told the Daily News. “They say that the plane landed safely, but we were all cloned in the air and that’s why Jack’s dad walks around, too, because he was cloned in the cargo area.”
Garcia plays ill-fated lottery winner Hurley alongside co-stars Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O’Quinn, Harold Perrineau, Michael Emerson, Naveen Andrews, Henry Ian Cusick, Emilie de Ravin, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim and Elizabeth Mitchell, as survivors hoping to be rescued from the Pacific island that holds many secret.
Last May, after the show’s third season, creators Jeffrey Lieber, J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof announced that “Lost” would end after 48 more episodes - to air over the course of three seasons. Those final 48 have gotten off to a bumpy start due to the writers strike. So far, they’ve been able to film only eight of this season’s 16-episode order.
“If [the strike] ends soon, there’s still time to go back and finish our season, but there’s also a point of no return,” said Garcia. “The minor benefit is that we’re going to be one of the few shows that has something new coming up. The people that are hungry for us…we’ll at least be able to give them something.”
