Lost Recap - Through the Looking Glass (May 23)
Wow. I’m really not sure where Lost is going to go from here, but it will definitely be interesting! I won’t do a full recap, but I’ll open up points of discussion. Here’ we go!
First off, is Charlie really dead? I mean, I know we’ve been expecting him to die any day now, but it really made me sad. He didn’t HAVE to die. He’d already shut down the blocking device. Why in the world did he not run out of the door? It’s quite possible that Desmond’s flash was wrong. But maybe that’s a twist? There were a LOT of deaths last night, and we were told there would be five deaths. So, maybe he’s not dead yet…
The title “Through the Looking Glass” of course makes me think of Alice in Wonderland. So the question becomes, Is the island the alternate universe or Is the aftermath with the drug-addicted Jack the alternate universe? Where does one end up when he goes through the looking glass? Any thoughts?
How was Penelope connected to the island? The boat is NOT hers, so who is Naomi and what is her purpose there?
Who is Kate’s “He”? When she meets the bearded Jack at the end, she says that “he’ll” wonder where I am. Who could that be?
Who was in the casket when Jack tried to make it to the “funeral”?
Locke is not dead! But when he first wakes up, he seems paralyzed. Then Walt appears to him and tells him that he still has work to do and to get up. (By the way, Walt has REALLY aged, huh?) John looks like he’s about to kill Jack if he won’t hang up the phone. Finally, John just walks away and tells him he’s making a mistake.
There were some great moments, and here are a few of my favorites:
How much did you love the scene with Hurley and the van? He wanted to help so much, and he finally got to be the hero. And Sayid broke the guy’s neck with his feet?!? Loved it!
Danielle and Alex had a pretty tender two seconds of a mother-daughter reunion before Danielle asked Alex to help her tie Ben up. I laughed out loud. And then when Ben was trying to convince Jack not to use Naomi’s phone, Danielle casually elbowed Ben in the face. It was great.
Sawyer killed Tom and said, “That’s for taking the kid off the raft.”
It was just such a good episode, that I can’t remember everything I wanted to discuss. And I can’t believe we have to wait so long before another new episode! So, talk to me. What did you think??

I loved it. I’m in favor of the drug-addicted Jack being a future in a timeline different from the one he was in prior to boarding 815. My thoughts on this and who is in the coffin (Ben) are here if you’re interested.
