Lost Season Finale May 13
Below is ABC’s Season Finale schedules for this year. Lost will have a two-parter episode airing on May the 13th. The show will not be aired the same day a new American Idol is crowned and thus avoids a possible ratings massacre.

ABC has opted not to send Lost’s season-ender on a suicide mission against the American Idol finale on May 20. Lost will close its next-to-last season a week earlier with a two-hour episode on May 13. The first hour probably will still have to buck an Idol results show but at least it won’t be going up against the May 20 crowning of the new Idol, one of the highest rated entertainment programs of the season.
Two-hour season finales will be commonplace among ABC’s biggest hits.
- Grey’s Anatomy will sign off for the season with a double episode on May 14.
- Desperate Housewives will do the same on May 17.
- ABC’s reality heavyweight, Dancing With the Stars, will have a two-hour finale on May 19.
- Private Practice will make an early exit with a standard one-hour show on April 30.
A couple of comedies have gotten dates for what will almost certainly be their series-enders. According to Jim, which should have been put out its misery years ago, will air for what figures to be the last time on May 5.
- Scrubs will sign off on May 6.
- Ugly Betty, which is being put on hiatus for spring tryout shows, will return on May 7 and end its season (and possibly series; ratings aren’t great) on May 21.
