Lost action figures! There are dolls for Jack, Kate, Hurley, Locke, Charlie, and Shannon. What, no Sawyer? I’m guessing since these are Season One dolls that that’s why they’ve included Shannon and left out Sawyer. I guess that makes sense. The dolls will also be able to quote lines from Season One. Pretty nifty.

Okay, so Kristin over at E! Online has tons of rumors/information. Here’s a run-down.
Damon and Carlton (the big Lost cheeses) just did about the scoopiest official podcast ever! They revealed/confirmed that (a) Jae Lee (Sun’s lover) killed himself and was not murdered by Sun or anyone else; (b) baby Clementine is quite possibly real and really Sawyer’s daughter—and they further implied that the little cutie might reappear in a future flashback; (c) Kate loves Sawyer (I tried to slip that one in here real fast so you Jaters won’t have a heart attack).
Good! I was hoping Sawyer was a really daddy. I don’t know why I’ve developed such a soft spot for him. Do I not remember how mean he can be?
I have been able to dig up a few facts regarding this so-called death. And they are: 1.) It’s not Hurley. I’m told by my Letterman mole that he’s actually promoting his mole and by ABC sources that episode 10 will be a Hurley flashback, courtesy of a very much alive Hurley. 2.) If you’ve seen the new Entertainment Weekly, you also know that Juliet apparently shoots someone in a group on the beach that includes Sawyer, Kate and the Others. She does it with two bullets from a Sig Sauer (the same model of gun that the Marshall carried). 3.) According to sources, it’s not Jack, Sawyer, Sun, Kate or Locke.
Okay, so we know who it’s NOT! I hope it’s not who I’ve heard it is. (Does that sentence make ANY sense?) If you haven’t taken part in my Quick Poll, maybe this information will help.
The Nov. 8 episode apprently will include a Kate flashback where we’ll see her wedding. I’ll have more information about that episode later. But for now, here’s a little taste.
I cannot wait to see that episode of Lost with Kate’s wedding! I’m told the wedding takes place in “Miamiâ€? (per usual, actually Honolulu). And that Kate’s name is not Kate. (I’ll pause while you digest that.) And that someone from the Lost island may make an appearance there.
So, that’s a lot of information, I know. Maybe more than some of us really want. Any thoughts?

As I mentioned last week, the rumor is that a main character will die this week. I don’t really want to believe it, but we know that Lost is not afraid to just kill people off. So, who’s it going to be? What do you think? I’ll tally the votes Wednesday afternoon so we can know what to expect Wednesday night.

At least one other is annoyed by the new characters on Lost (Nikki and Paulo) just showing up. This is from a list of new characters that bother this guy:
That new guy on Lost. OK, so he’s suddenly there, playing golf, with hints of a major story with Desmond, and we’re supposed to believe he’s been there the whole time and we just haven’t seen him? And what’s up with his accent? I can’t place it.
It really bothers me that a show this established would just throw in some new characters without any kind of introduction at all. Couldn’t they at least call the new people by their names and maybe reference what their roles have been on the island? That scene with the golf was so annoying to me!

This guy is hilarious! He’s made a game out of watching Lost. Characters earn points and have points deducted based on their actions during each episode. Right now, the top three are Locke, Desmond, and Sawyer. It’s really very clever. Check it out!

Okay, I’m not sure any of our pre-Lost activities rival these two guys’, but I can certainly identify with their intensity. Check out the video on TV Squad. It takes about 2 minutes, and it does have sound, so watch out if you’re at work.

There was this other show from the late-60’s called The New People, and it’s been suggested that Lost is a little too similar to The New People. According to TV Squad:
The setup is the same (a plane crash on an island where people start a new society), and weren’t there originally 40 survivors of the Lost plane crash? The phrase “the new people” sounds a lot like “the Others.” And Rod Serling created the show and wrote the first ep under a pseudonym, and J.J. Abrams has said many times that he’s a huge Rod Serling/Twilight Zone fan. Alas, there is no connection. They didn’t even know about the show before, and producer Damon Lindelof wishes he had known about it before so he could have named Charlie’s band The New People instead of Drive Shaft. Heh.
I love that the producer wishes he had known about the show so that he could reference it in the show. Little things like that make me smile.

There’s a possibility that the first season of Lost will be available in something called a Blu-ray format. Blu-ray is “a high-definition disc that can store substantially more content than a regular DVD.” Sounds pretty expensive, though. Almost $200 for a box-set of the entire season! But, hey, we’d probably pay anything for all those extras that could fit on one of those babies!

Some are suggesting maybe it was Locke’s spine and not Ben’s. What do you think??

Okay, we know the answers to some of our spoiler questions. Which Other dies? Colleen. What do Jack and Juliet have in common? They’re both doctors. What animal “dies”? The rabbit. The Sawyer/Westmoreland reference? Well, Wikipedia describes General Westmoreland as “an officer who cared about his men and took a great interest in their welfare.” Could this be referencing Sawyer’s sudden interest in Kate’s welfare and his unselfish giving of money to his daughter? Possibly.
Now the recap:
The show opened on Desmond studying Claire and Aaron. He then asks if he can fix her roof. Charlie gets all offended, saying he can fix anything Claire needs fixed. We think Desmond’s crazy, and Charlie even says, “We’re gonna have to get another button for that guy to push.” Charlie’s becoming the comic relief. Of course, we’re all confused until the end of the show when they’re in the middle of a torrential rainstorm. So, Desmond’s future-telling ability still lingers. He also built some kind of lightning rod. Not really sure what that was all about. Anyone?
Jack is in his cell watching cartoons. Juliet brings him lunch. Ben rushes in and says something like, “The sub is back. We need you.” (I live in the dark ages without Tivo, so forgive me. I didn’t get to rewind and figure it out. But I know you loyal watchers know what he said! Several people on this source think he said “sub.”) Turns out they’re bringing Colleen back, whom Sun shot on the boat. They bring Colleen by Sawyer’s and Kate’s cages, and she looks really bad. Kate asks, “What happened?” Sawyer smirks and replies, “We happened. I’ve been here long enough to know they don’t shoot each other.” Love Sawyer’s smirk!
Sawyer calls Colleen’s boyfriend/husband “broken-nose man. I think his name is Pickett. They also called him Danny. Anyway, Sawyer has a plan for the next time the Others come in to his cage to mess with him and try to electrocute him. He creates a pool of water so that he can grab the guy who’s electrocuting him and shock him in return. Unfortunately, Sawyer hasn’t figured out that they’re watching and hearing everything he’s doing. Ben is the next to come to Sawyer’s cage, and Ben pretends to fall into Sawyer’s trap but then beats him relentlessly. How can such a scrawny dude like Ben beat Sawyer like that?

Some people have a lot more time on their hands than I do, obviously. But these are some great insights to the mysteries of Lost. Read, discuss, enjoy!
Notice the reference to the Dharma Initiative Oompa Loompas. Love it!

According to TV Squad:
On tonight’s episode: An animal “dies”, an Other dies, Sawyer has a heart-wrenching storyline, Sawyer finds his Westmoreland and someone else very close to him and we find out Juliet and Jack have one very big thing in common. [Source: Kristin of E!] (My guess for the Juliet Jack thing — they’re siblings).
A series regular will die in next week’s episode. [Source: Ask Ausiello]
What do they mean by “Sawyer finds his Westmoreland”? Am I missing something very obvious there?
Which Other will die? Surely it will be one of the minor characters…
What if Jack and Juliet are siblings?? How fun would that be!
Who’s going to die?? I’m hearing rumors that it might be Mr. Eko. Anybody else heard anything?

Are you kidding me? We have to lose our Lost from November 8 to February 7? According to TV Guide:
February 7 has been confirmed as the return date for Lost, which goes on hiatus after the Nov. 8 episode to free up the time slot for Taye Diggs’ Day Break (which I started watching last night and it is, like, wowee-zowee good).
What are we going to do for almost THREE months without Lost?? This is ridiculous! If you want to start a new show, why don’t you knock off some show that’s not doing so well? Don’t take away our Lost!

Previews are showing Sawyer being tortured and Kate being asked repeatedly if she loves him. So, what is this going to be? She loves him, no torture. She loves him not, torture. Or vice versa? And who are these people? I know I keep asking this question, but they look like they have some pretty extravagant torture devices. I’m not a fan of torture. I watched with my hands in front of my face the scenes with Sayid and Henry Gale last season. I don’t know if I can handle an entire episode of Sawyer torture.
But back to the point: Ben keeps screaming at Kate, “Do you love him?” Does he mean Sawyer or Jack? Previews are always misleading, as we know, and the previews would make us believe it’s Sawyer, but they keep showing Jack too. And why does Ben care who Kate loves?

According to the Chicago Tribune, Juliet makes best new characters list. She’s listed as “Best Female Villain.” I can certainly agree with that. On the surface, she seems normal and maybe even caring. Remember how she made Jack homemade soup? Then the next thing you know, she’s holding Kate at gunpoint and it’s obvious she would have no qualms about using that gun. I want to know what her story is. And I want to know what she ever saw in Ben, aka Henry Gale.
