With too many things going on in a show like Lost, it’s easier to forget some elements and stories from past seasons. Like for instance, the story of Locke and Helen. Do you have a clear recollection of how they met? What the problem was in their relationship? In the last episode, Locke made mention of her and told Kate that he had been in love once with her.

The character of Helen first appeared in the second season of Lost. And lucky for us who have already forgotten her, there’s a video of her scenes on Youtube.

I know a story about Evangeline Lilly auditioning for fall pilot season surfaced over the weekend and left fans of Lost to speculate she may be leaving the series because of this. But immediately after the news (or rumor?) surfaced, Lilly’s representatives immediately denied this and says that this is “absolutely falls”.

Entertainment Weekly spoke to the actress who categorically said —- “I am very happy on Lost and have no reason to look anywhere else for a home.”

MAN: John? John, wake up.
LOCKE: Mm.
MAN: You had a compound fracture. The doctors here did their best, but I had a specialist flown in to reset your leg properly.
WIDMORE: It’s nice to see you again, John.
LOCKE: Do I know you?
WIDMORE:  Yes. I understand your being confused. Imagine how I feel. I met you when I was 17. And now all these years later, here we are. You look exactly the same.
LOCKE: Who are you?
WIDMORE: My name is Charles Widmore. Tell me, John. How long has it been for you since… we first met, since you walked into our camp and you spoke to Richard?
LOCKE: Four days.
WIDMORE: That’s incredible.

WIDMORE: Because there’s a war coming, John. And if you’re not back on the Island when that happens, the wrong side is going to win.

LOCKE: “Jeremy Bentham”?
WIDMORE: He was a British philosopher. Your parents had a sense of humor when they named you, so why can’t I? This should be money enough for now. The phone’s international. If you need to reach me, for anything, just press 2-3. The folder contains your people’s whereabouts, everyone that was on the Island that left.
LOCKE: You’ve been watching them?
WIDMORE: I’m deeply invested in the future of the Island, John. So, yes, I’ve been watching them. I wouldn’t mention I’m involved in this. I can’t imagine what they think of me, having listened to Benjamin’s lies.
LOCKE: How do I know that you’re not the one who’s lying?
WIDMORE: I haven’t tried to kill you. Would you say the same for him?

LOCKE: You asked if there was someone you could look up for me.
ABADDON: Yes, I did.
LOCKE: Her name is Helen–Helen Norwood–and she was living in Los Angeles.
ABADDON: She an old girlfriend of yours?

ABADDON: John… you’re not really gonna pretend you don’t remember that I was an orderly in the hospital right after your accident? That I was the one who told you to go on your walkabout? The same walkabout that put you on the plane that crashed on that Island?
LOCKE: No. I remember.
ABADDON: I help people get to where they need to get to, John. That’s what I do for Mr. Widmore.

KATE: Have you ever been in love, John?
LOCKE: What?
KATE: I think about you sometimes. I think about how desperate you were to stay on that Island. And then I realized… it was all because you didn’t love anybody.
LOCKE: That’s not true. I loved someone… once. Her name was Helen.
KATE: What happened?
LOCKE: Well… it–it… it just didn’t work out.
KATE: Why not, John?
LOCKE: I was angry. I was… ob-obsessed.
KATE: And look how far you’ve come.

LOCKE: What happened to her?
ABADDON: She died of a brain aneurysm. I’m very sorry, Mr. Locke.
LOCKE: She loved me. If I had just… we could’ve been together.
ABADDON: Maybe you could have. That wouldn’t change anything. She’d still be gone.
LOCKE: Would she?
ABADDON: Helen is where she’s supposed to be. As sad as it is, her path led here. And your path, no matter what you did or what you do, your path leads back to the Island.
LOCKE: You say that like it’s all det–inevitable.
ABADDON: Mr. Widmore told me Richard Alpert said that you were going to die. So you tell me, John. Is that inevitable, or is it a choice?
LOCKE: What, you think I wanna die? How is that… how could you possibly think that’s a choice?
ABADDON: Hey… I’m just your driver.

LOCKE’S FATEFUL MISSION OFF THE ISLAND IS REVEALED, ON ABC’S “LOST”

This episode of “Lost” will be available on ABC.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online.

Lost will apparently have no new episodes on March 11th and instead will air a repeat of the episode a week prior to this (which is the 8th episode of the fifth season).

This is according to this press release found at ABC’s publicity site — ABCMedia.Net:

“LaFleur” - Sawyer perpetuates a lie with some of the other island survivors in order to protect themselves from mistakes of the past, on “Lost,” WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11 (9:00-10:02 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD 3/4/09)

“Lost” stars Naveen Andrews as Sayid, Henry Ian Cusick as Desmond, Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday, Michael Emerson as Ben, Matthew Fox as Jack, Jorge Garcia as Hurley, Josh Holloway as Sawyer, Daniel Dae Kim as Jin, Yunjin Kim as Sun, Ken Leung as Miles, Evangeline Lilly as Kate, Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet and Terry O’Quinn as Locke.

“Lost” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio via SAP. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.

This episode of “Lost” will be available on ABC.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online.

Lost will return with Episode 9th the following week.

And Lance Reddick, the actor who plays Matthew Abaddon, discusses with IGN the circumstances of his return. He also talks about working in both Lost and Fringe (the other series that JJ Abrams has created airing on Fox network.)

I cover Fringe on this site from time to time, especially when news and updates are slow when it comes to Lost.

The series has been making New York as its backdrop but according to Entertainment Weekly, the show will be moving to Vancouver, Canada if and when Fox picks Fringe up for a second season.

Why the exodus? Obviously, a lot of this has to do with budget. And since the NYC film/TV tax incentive program isn’t taking off, the move to Vancouver should help with the cost cutting.

In a statement, Warner Bros. Television tells EW that “in this challenging and uncertain economic environment, we have made the very difficult decision to move… We did not come to this conclusion easily, but economic and practical imperatives dictated that this decision be made in a timely manner.” It is believed that the decision to relocate is due largely to the lingering possibility that New York state’s film/TV production tax incentive program, which just recently ran out of funds, will not be replenished by Governor David Paterson.

ELOISE: Aha. Here we go.All right. I apologize if this is confusing, but…let’s pay attention, yes? The room we’re standing in was constructed years ago over a unique pocket of electromagnetic energy. You say the Island’s not done with me? Well, I’m done with the Island.

ELOISE: Jack… the binder in your hands shows all the air routes that fly over the coordinates where I believe the Island will be in little more than a day from now. There’s a commercial airliner flying from L.A. to Guam. It’s going to go right through our window. Ajira Airways, Flight 316. If you have any hope of the Island bringing you back, it must be that plane. You all need to be on it. It must be that flight.  If you… want to return, you need to recreate as best you can the circumstances that brought you there in the first place. That means as many of the same people as you are able to bring with you.

JACK: My father… is gone. My father has been dead for three years. You want me to……and to give it to Locke?! He’s in a coffin! This is ridiculous.
ELOISE: Oh, stop thinking how ridiculous it is and start asking yourself whether or not you believe it’s going to work. That’s why it’s called a leap of faith, Jack.

BEN: Thomas the Apostle. When Jesus wanted to return to Judea, knowing that he would probably be murdered there, Thomas said to the others, “Let us also go, that we might die with him.” But Thomas was not remembered for this bravery. His claim to fame came later… when he refused to acknowledge the resurrection. He just couldn’t wrap his mind around it. The story goes… that he needed to touch Jesus’ wounds to be convinced.
JACK: So was he?
BEN: Of course he was. We’re all convinced sooner or later, Jack.
JACK: Where are you going?
BEN: Oh, I made a promise to an old friend of mine–just a loose end that needs tying up. See you at the airport, Jack.

LAPIDUS: Well, hello, Doc. Small world. What are you doing going to Guam?
JACK: What are you doing here, Frank?
LAPIDUS: Well, I picked this gig up about eight months ago. I fly this route all the time. Sometimes I take the big birds into New… Delhi. Is… that Sayid? And Hurley. Wait a second. We’re not going to Guam, are we?

JACK: They found this stuffed in his pocket. And I’ve been trying to get rid of it, but it’s like it’s… following me. I know it sounds crazy, but… it feels like John needs me to read it.
BEN: Why don’t you then? Is it because you’re afraid?
JACK: Afraid of what?
BEN: Afraid that he blames you, that it’s your fault he killed himself.
JACK: Was it my fault?
BEN: No, Jack, it wasn’t your fault.
