Video: JJ Abrams on Conan on Brian
JJ Abrams was on Conan O’ Brien’s show last week. He is one of the creators of Lost and now, Fringe.
Conan told him his work has had a huge impact on the audience, particularly the young ones and then asked him if he has any problems with “planes” considering Lost and Fringe opened with similar plane disasters.
JJ says he loved airplane movies as a child. “The idea of airplanes always sort of fascinated me. On Lost, we wrote a lot of those airplane scenes on the plane flying to Hawaii, which was really disturbing… On Fringe, we thought that this is a scary way into this scary show.”
Conan asked about the Lost theme music (which sounds like “a chair falling over”). JJ does the theme songs to the shows he created. “On Lost, I found a really cool, scary synthesizer patch basically and I hit one note. And I won an award for that theme.”
